I made it to Washington today. It's been a long, beautiful 4-day drive across the country. Our path crossed through seven states between Michigan and Washington – Indiana (for a hot sec), Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota (saw Mt. Rushmore), Wyoming (explored Yellowstone National Park) and Montana.
Some tips I've learned along the way: • Avoid the Illinois tollway! • Yellowstone would be a really cool place to camp (adding to the bucket list ASAP) • Iowa is an extremely long state full of farm land • Montana and Washington have seriously breathtaking views I cannot wait to start this new life. Two more hours to go!
Last night, a wonderful friend of mine sent me a photo of an arrow with an expression that really connected with me.
An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward. When life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means it's going to launch you into something great. So just focus, and keep aiming. As I reflect about the future, now that summer's quickly come & gone, I feel I need to focus more than ever to reach my goals. I know where I want to be in order to truly thrive, because I believe there's more to this everyday, constant routine we call life. I've gotten a taste of the beauty, and I want more. So I will focus and keep aiming no matter what. Something great is surely coming my way and I couldn't be more excited about it. -M |
